Since early 2024, NUWOG – the municipal housing company of the City of Neu-Ulm – has been under new management. In order to guide the organization in a targeted and effective manner, the first step was to gain a clear understanding of its strengths and areas for improvement. This formed the basis for developing specific action plans, defining strategic objectives, and establishing a long-term vision for the company.
Challenges
NUWOG is currently facing a range of challenges resulting from the tense housing market and various external factors. These include the increasing demands of climate protection, the need to keep pace with ongoing digitalization, the broader economic environment, and the persistent shortage of housing. This pressure to act required a rapid yet comprehensive analysis of the organization, along with the development and continuous implementation of practical, solution-oriented measures.

As part of the organizational assessment, we developed concrete optimization measures and initiated their implementation together with the management team. In addition, NUWOG’s strategic vision and long-term goals were jointly developed through a series of workshops involving both the executive management and staff. Particularly valuable was the close involvement of employees: Through targeted interview formats and dedicated information sessions, we not only gained important insights into operational processes and organizational challenges, but also ensured broad acceptance of the results.
