The education academy of the Handwerkskammer Region Stuttgart offers a wide range of inter-company training - from one-day seminars to master craftsman training. Since the geographical area of the Chamber of Skilled Crafts is very wide (districts of Ludwigsburg, Rems-Murr, Göppingen, Esslingen, Böblingen as well as the state capital Stuttgart), the question arose whether Weilimdorf was the right location and whether all members could take advantage of the offer.

Challenges

In the first step, the anonymised participant data of the training courses was evaluated and the number of craft enterprises and trainees per district was analysed. In the second step, the current catchment area was derived from the evaluations and the members who were not reached were presented. In order to obtain these results and subsequently to be able to discuss the future demand for the training offered by the training academy, a deep familiarisation with the client's business field was necessary.

Added value

Through an isochrone evaluation of the accessibility of possible locations, a clear recommendation for action could be made to open another location in the east of the Stuttgart Metropolitan Region. For the feasibility, the rental and purchase options on site were analysed and concrete locations examined.
