albrings + müller assumed interim management of the “Construction and Technical Services” division at Studierendenwerk Stuttgart. This division is responsible for the technical management and strategic development of a property portfolio comprising approximately 5,800 student accommodation places. The objective was to ensure the ongoing operation, provide staff with a professional and organisational point of contact, and conduct a thorough analysis of the existing structures.
Challenges
The management position was vacant for an extended period due to personnel changes. This resulted in uncertainties regarding project prioritisation, delayed decision-making processes, and an increase in interface challenges. Additionally, a structured onboarding process for a new manager needed to be prepared and ensured.

Through professional, stable leadership and targeted organisational optimisations, a solid foundation was established for the future direction of the division. The onboarding of the new department head was successfully supported – with clear handover structures as well as advisory assistance on technical, organisational, and personnel matters. We acted as sparring partners for Managing Director Marco Abe, ensuring the progress of day-to-day operations as well as strategic processes.
